In some parts of the United States, citizens have received phone calls and been threatened with prosecution for failing to comply with jury service. During the calls they are asked to provide confidential data which could lead to identity theft. In another scam, people have received an email that appears to be a grand jury subpoena issued by the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. The email was sent from a USCOURTS.COM address.

Federal courts do not require anyone to provide any sensitive information in a telephone call and do not initiate contact with prospective jurors by email. Most contact between a federal court and a prospective juror will be through the U.S. Mail or through an authorized court web site, and any phone contact by real court officials will not include requests for social security numbers, credit card numbers, etc.
