Law Clerk Benefits Information Page

You have 60 days after your start date to make your benefits decisions.  Please review the Law Clerk Benefits Highlights Chart for a brief description of many benefits and note any deadlines for making elections.  The Law Clerk Benefits FAQ provides an in-depth description of each benefit offering and provides links to benefit enrollment portals.
Incoming law clerks may use paper forms to enroll in their benefits but, especially during "Law Clerk Season" when each District in the Federal Judiciary sees increased hiring levels, we encourage employees to use the electronic enrollment options available to them. Electronic enrollment greatly reduces problems commonly associated with Law Clerk Season such as misplaced forms, data entry errors and extended processing times. You will receive additional information on electronic benefits enrollment during your New Hire Orientation or you may contact the HR Department before coming onboard.

Health Insurance
Judiciary Benefits Center (preferred) - available after hire
SF 2809 Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) Election Form
Life Insurance
Judiciary Benefits Center (preferred) - available after hire
SF 2817 Federal Employees Group Life Insurance (FEGLI) Election Form
Dental and Vision Insurance
Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP) - must register after hire
There is no paper enrollment form.
Flexible Spending Accounts
Judiciary Benefits Center (preferred) - available after hire
FSA Election Form
Commuter Benefits
Enrollment information will be provided before hire.
