Changing Your Password

Your initial password is computer generated. Once you have your login and password, you can change your password to one which is easy for you to remember. To change your password, take the following steps.

  1. After logging into the electronic filing system, click Utilities on the main menu bar, then click Maintain Your Login/Password.
  2. Remove the asterisks from the password field, and enter your new password. Passwords must be at least eight characters long and include both uppercase and lowercase alphabetic characters and at least one digit or special character (for example, 0-9, @, #, $, %, &, *, +).
  3. Click Submit.
  4. Click Logout. You may now log back in using your new password. Please record your new password and keep it in a safe place.

I Forgot My Password

If you forget your password, do not submit another registration form.  Instead, go to our website at http://www.mdd.uscourts.gov/electronic-case-filing-password-reset and follow the instructions. 

An email will then be sent to the address on file with the Clerk’s Office. Click the link in the email and you will be able to select a new password.
