Public Notice for the Reappointment of Magistrate Judge

The United States District Court for the District of Maryland proposes to reappoint a United States Magistrate Judge.

The term of the part-time United States Magistrate Judge position in Salisbury, currently occupied by Magistrate Judge C. Bruce Anderson, is due to expire on March 22, 2020.   The Court proposes to reappoint the Honorable C. Bruce Anderson for an additional four-year term.

Magistrate Judge Anderson performs those duties authorized part-time Magistrate Judges, including the conduct of preliminary proceedings in criminal cases and the trial and disposition of misdemeanors and infraction cases.

Magistrate Judge Anderson hears cases in Salisbury, Maryland.  He has primary responsibility for Assateague National Park (including portions located in the Eastern District of Virginia), Somerset, Wicomico and Worcester Counties.

The United States District Court for the District of Maryland will establish selection panels to consider the reappointment of the incumbents.

Comments from members of the bar and the public are invited as to whether the incumbent Magistrate Judge should be recommended by the panel for reappointment by the Court and should be directed to:
