The United States District Court for the District of Maryland will remain open and operating notwithstanding the depletion of sufficient funding to maintain all Judiciary operations at a national level. Despite the ongoing governmental lapse in appropriations, the Court is committed to performing its constitutional responsibilities. This includes all aspects of the Court’s judicial functions including docketing new cases, document filing, resolving motions, settlement conferences, hearings, trials, and deciding cases.  Unless otherwise ordered in a specific case, all civil and criminal cases will proceed in normal course and no deadlines are subject to a stay.
